In the beginning, billiard tables were built of wood, and today materials have evolved, starting with the use of steel in 1980. However, wood remains, and will remain, an essential manufacturing element of billiard table construction, thanks to its noble character and the warmth it exudes.
In building a Toulet wooden table, the choice of woods is essential. They are made of kotibe (a member of the mahogany family), walnut, oak, teak, or any other wood of your choice, always with dense, solid wood. This wooden structure, matched with a reinforced metal chassis, ensures the table’s sturdiness. In addition, the use of unfinished wood gives the freedom to choose any type of finish.
By taking advantage of all these possibilities, our wooden billiard tables meet all your expectations and match your tastes and your interior.
Kotibe is a hard wood, which ensures the sturdiness of the table. It has a red-tinted stain, ideal for cherry or mahogany colors.
Walnut and oak have the same characteristics, but have a more pronounced grain.
Teak lends itself to outdoor use, thanks to its natural resistance to humidity, when used with well-suited components such as rustproof treatment, impermeable cloth, and pockets with drainage holes.
Certain models of wooden tables, such as the Megève, are designed with antique wood from historic mountain chalets, a natural material that has matured over time, will make your interior warm and inviting, and will delight lovers of authenticity.
Beyond the choice of wood type, Toulet billard tables are available in a complete palette of finishes, thanks to our dedicated finishing workshop where a finisher specializing in renovation of antique furniture brings together the technical and design qualities of today’s tables with antique finishes.
With this expertise, your wooden table will achieve the look of the furnishings of yesterday.
Four finishes are available : Flemish, vintage, luxe, or antiqued.
It is also possible to simply paint your wooden table in any colors you would like, to match the setting as well as possible. In a seaside house, a mountain chalet, or a city apartment, your wooden table will always find pride of place in your interior.
Also, because we are conscious of the environmental impact that uncontrolled, large-scale use of certain woods can cause, we have chosen to use only raw materials certified by the Forest Stewardship Council, which works for the ongoing health of tropical forests. This places several requirements on manufacturers : respect for indigenous populations, preservation of biodiversity, regeneration of forests, and monitoring of foresting activity.
Always with respect for the environment in mind, Toulet is currently working on a new project: the construction of a 100% recycled wood billiard table!
This is the wooden table as envisioned by Billiards Toulet.
